Medizinstudentin Allison ist eigentlich überzeugte Atheistin, weshalb es sie um so härter trifft, als sie bei ihrer ersten Obduktion gleich mal das Gefühl hat, als wolle ihr der Geist einer unschön verunstalteten Toten eine Botschaft übermitteln. Professor und Kommilitonen wollen von derlei irrationalem Quatsch natürlich nichts wissen. Als aber eine mysteriöse Mordserie den Kreis der Beteiligten lichtet, kommt zumindest auch Allisons Freund ins Grübeln. Gemeinsam lüften er und Allison ein schauriges Geheimnis.
