Tatis herrliche Zeiten (1967)
Hauptdarsteller des Films ist eine Stadt: hypermodern, verwirrend komplex und unmenschlich. Für Monsieur Hulot ist sie ein Labyrinth, in dem er sich verirrt und das er mit seiner Neugier und Menschlichkeit durcheinanderbringt. Am Flughafen kommt derweil eine junge Touristin an, für einen Tagesausflug in die moderne Stadt. Sie besichtigt das urbane Labyrinth, in das sich Hulot verwickelt hat. Als sie sich treffen, nimmt das Leben andere Formen an: Aus Staus werden Auto-Karussells, aus Strassenlampen eine Art Blumensträuße, aus Nachtclub-Dekorationen Umzäunungen ... Französischer Film aus dem Jahr 1967 von und mit Jacques Tati, der in einem Paris spielt, das nur noch aus Glas- und Stahlkonstruktionen besteht. Die Handlung dreht sich um die Suche des Monsieur Hulot nach Monsieur Giffard. Der Film ist als Modernismuskritik zu verstehen und brachte Tati an den Rand des finanziellen Ruins.
