Ich bin Sam (2001)
Der geistig zurückgebliebene Sam hat einen festen Job in einem Coffee Shop und zieht Dank der Hilfe seines mitfühlenden Freundeskreises die Tochter Lucy alleine auf. Als die Kleine jedoch sieben Jahre alt wird und somit die mentale Reife ihres Vaters erreicht, meldet sich das Jugendamt, um Sams Tochter zu Pflegeeltern zu geben. Doch der liebende Vater kämpft gegen die Bürokratie und schafft es sogar, eine Staranwältin und die zurückgezogen lebende Nachbarin davon zu überzeugen, für ihn und sein Mädchen auf die Barrikaden zu gehen.
