Gaslicht und Schatten (1944)
London, im Jahre 1870: Die junge Waise Fanny kommt als Dienstmädchen in das Haus des Ministers William Hopwood. Sie findet heraus, dass sie Williams uneheliche Tochter ist, wird aber von seiner eifersüchtigen Frau aus dem Hause geekelt. Auch als sie sich in den Gentleman Harry verliebt, stößt Fanny auf Widerstände.
