Die letzten Amerikaner (1981)
Charles Hardin ist Bohringenieur. In den Sümpfen von Louisiana soll am Wochenende eine Reserveübung der Nationalgarde stattfinden, zu der er eingezogen wird. Alle anderen unter Sergeant Crawford Poole haben bereits zusammengearbeitet, er ist neu. Nur mit Spencer freundet er sich an, die anderen kann er nicht ausstehen. Während des Marsches durch das Sumpfgebiet kommt es zu einem tragischen Zwischenfall. Die Gruppe trifft auf einheimische Cajuns und benutzt ihre Boote. Man möchte sie ihnen zurückgeben, doch nach einem Missverständnis tötet ein Cajun den Sergeant. Die Truppe überlegt, was nun zu tun ist. Viel scharfe Munition hat sie nicht dabei, sodass jeder Mann nur drei Schuss erhält. Doch die größten Probleme entstehen nicht durch die Cajun - die Soldaten sorgen selbst dafür...
