Nachdem Elvis Presley in den 1960er Jahren überwiegend harmlose Unterhaltungsfilme gedreht hatte, läutete er mit diesem TV-Special von 1968 sein Comeback auf der Bühne ein. "Der King", ganz in schwarzem Leder gekleidet, singt seine größten Hits und zeigt sich in dieser legendär gewordenen NBC-Sendung auf dem Zenit seines Erfolgs.
