Die wilden 30er-Jahre, ein solziales Milieu, das zu der Zeit als "Bright Young Things" bekannt war. Adam und seine Freunde sind wild, exzentrisch und stellen sich gegen alle Konventionen. Sie wollen schockieren... Inmitten des selbsterschaffenen Chaos versucht Adam das Herz der schönen Nina zu gewinnen. Ihm fehlt aber das nötige Kleingeld. Während er alles versucht an Geld zu kommen, muss er mit ansehen, wie sich ein Freund nach dem anderen selbst zerstört. Erst als die politische Welt außer Kontrolle zu geraten scheint und um ihn herum alles zusammenbricht, beginnt er, sein Leben zu überdenken. Und sich auf das zu besinnen, was ihm am wichtigsten ist...
