Als 1980 der Skandalfilm 'Cruising' mit Al Pacino als Undercover-Cop in der schwulen New Yorker S/M- und Leder-Szene veröffentlicht werden sollte, wurde der Film im Vorfeld derart kontrovers diskutiert, dass 40 Minuten sexuell äußerst expliziten Materials herausgeschnitten werden mussten.
