The Dark (2005)
In der Hoffnung, ihre junge Familie wieder zusammenzuführen, fährt die New Yorkerin Adelle mit ihrer Tochter Sarah nach Wales. Dort lebt ihr Ehemann James in einem abgelegenen Farmhaus an der Küste. Schon kurz nach der Ankunft erlebt Adelle einen schlimmen Alptraum: Sarah verschwindet in den dunklen Tiefen des Meeres. Während sich James auf die Suche nach seiner verschwundenen Tochter macht, wird Adelle von Visionen heimgesucht, die ihre tiefsten Ängste offenbaren. Anscheinend besitzt die Farm eine dunkle Vergangenheit. Als plötzlich ein mysteriöses Mädchen auftaucht, das vorgibt zu wissen, wo Sarah ist, kommt Adelle einer alten walisischen Legende auf die Spur, wonach ein Toter dann zurückkehrt, wenn ein Lebender geopfert wird...
