Penelope (1966)
Die hübsche und leicht ausgeflippte Sängerin Penelope verliebt sich in den Banker James Elcott, sie verdreht ihm den Kopf, die beiden heiraten Hals über Kopf, und dann - kehrt der langweilige Alltag der gehobenen Gesellschaft ein. Penelope fühlt sich von ihrem Mann vernachlässigt, ihr Tagesinhalt wird von Langeweile, Geldausgeben und Therapiesitzungen bestimmt. Aus Frust beginnt Penelope zu klauen, erst kleine Dinge, dann größere und eines Tages steht dann auch ihr erster 'Bankraub' an, und zwar ausgerechnet die neue Bank ihres Mannes. Obwohl eigentlich alles auf sie als Täterin hindeutet und ihr Arzt vermutet sie hättet den Überfall sowieso nur begangen um Aufmerksamkeit zu erregen, weigert sich ihre Umgebung das offensichtliche wahrhaben zu wollen. Schließlich wird sogar anstelle von Penelope eine Unschuldige verhaftet.
