Die beiden Songtexter Fred und Daphne gehören zu den Finalisten der beliebten Show „Talent Star“. Auch Scooby-Doo und Shaggy bereiten heimlich einen Auftritt vor, mit dem sie den Wettbewerb gewinnen wollen. Doch schon bald stellt sich heraus, dass es in dem Opernhaus, in dem das Finale stattfinden soll, spukt. Ein rachsüchtiges Phantom sabotiert die Show. Sofort versuchen die Detektive der Mystery-Gang das Phantom zu fangen, doch das ist gar nicht so einfach. Bei ihrer Jagd durch das Opernhaus machen sie einige überraschende Entdeckungen.
