Ein Fremder kommt 1876 in das kalifornische Prärienest, wo man seinen Kriegskameraden und Freund, einen Indianer, wegen angeblicher Vergewaltigung aufgehängt hat. Mit Hilfe einer hübschen Einheimischen entlarvt er den Schuldigen, der sich nur an der ertragreichen Ölquelle des Indianers bereichern wollte.
