Fräulein Julie (2014)
Irland, 1890: Die adlige Julie versucht, ihrem Alltag als junge Gräfin zu entfliehen und hofft, endlich Spannung in ihr von gesellschaftlichen Normen dominiertes Leben zu bringen. Auf dem jährlichen Mittsommerfest tanzt sie des Nachts mit John einem ihrer Hausangestellten, und aus dem Tanz entwickelt sich schnell eine heikle Liebesbeziehung. Zwischen den beiden beginnt ein psychologisches Spiel um Macht, Begierde und Verführung – immerhin kennt John seine Herrin schon seit der Kindheit und hatte bereits damals ein Auge auf sie geworfen. Davon abgesehen ist ihm daran gelegen, seine gesellschaftliche Stellung zu verbessern. Zwar sind John und die ebenfalls im Herrenhaus angestellte Kathleen mehr als nur Kollegen, trotzdem treibt er das manipulative Spiel mit Julie bis zur Eskalation.
