Der Diamantencoup (1978)
Der Nachwuchskriminelle Jeff Olafson hat beim deutschstämmigen Gangsterboss Van Stratten eine satte Latte Schulden stehen, die er nicht zurückzahlen kann. In seiner Not stöbert er einen alten Freund seines Vaters in Mexiko auf: Chris Gretchko, ehemaliger Spezialist für Geldschränke jeglicher Art, hat sich nach einem längeren Knastaufenthalt als Rancher ehrlich gemacht. Gretchko soll nun Jeffs Kopf aus der Schlinge ziehen, indem er für Van Stratten in einem New Yorker Lagerhaus einen Tresor mit Diamanten knackt. Die Schränkerlegende willigt ein, doch schon beim ersten Gespräch mit dem Auftraggeber dünkt ihm, dass die Sache nicht koscher ist.
