Mr. Turner - Meister des Lichts (2014)
Der Maler William Turner führt um das Jahr 1825 ein bewegtes Leben: Neben seiner Kunst der Landschaftsmalerei widmet er sich Reisen, Bordellbesuchen und Zusammenkünften mit dem Landadel. Der Künstler kostet seine Freiheiten aus, an der Londoner Royal Academy of Arts tritt er sehr großspurig auf. Er ist alles andere als diplomatisch und mit seinem eigenwilligen Verhalten stößt Turner so manches Mitglied der ehrenwerten Gesellschaft vor den Kopf. Und auch im Privatleben ist der Umgang mit dem kauzigen Maler überaus schwierig. Er teilt die Wohnung mit seinem Vater William und seiner Haushälterin Hannah Danby, deren innige Zuneigung er schamlos ausnutzt. Als der Vater schließlich stirbt, gerät William Jr. in eine tiefe künstlerische und persönliche Krise.
