Mordfall: John Lennon (2005)
Am 8. Dezember 1980 wurde John Lennon vor seinem New Yorker Wohnsitz erschossen. Es war das erste Attentat der Popgeschichte. Millionen Fans versammelten sich spontan zu Gedenkfeiern. Der Mörder Mark David Chapman wurde noch am Tatort verhaftet. In seinen Verhören wurden verblüffende Parallelen in den Biografien von Opfer und Täter offenbar. Als Hauptmotiv gab Chapman zu Protokoll, er habe durch die Schüsse auf sein Idol „einfach nur berühmt“ werden wollen. Die Dokumentation zeichnet zwei Lebenswege nach, deren verhängnisvolle Verknüpfung zu einer schrecklichen Bluttat geführt hat.
