Performance (1970)
Im Jargon der Unterwelt ist Chas Devlin ein “Performer”, ein Gangster, der seine Gegner brutal einschüchtert. Turner ist ein zurückgezogen lebender Rock-Superstar. Als Chas Turner kennen lernt, prallen zwei völlig unterschiedliche Welten aufeinander, was ebenso exotischen wie explosiven Zündstoff liefert. James Fox und Mick Jagger zeigen als Chas und Turner unvergessliche darstellerische Leistungen in einem faszinierenden Spiel zwischen Illusion und Realität, Dekadenz und Untergang. Auf der Flucht versteckt sich Chas in Turners höhlenartigem Haus. Bald überschlagen sich die unheimlichen Ereignisse derart, dass alle Dämme brechen, traditionelle Rollen nicht mehr gelten und Chas sein Gefühl für die Realität völlig verliert. Wobei Turners experimentelle Selbstfindung ebenfalls in eine schockierende letzte Performance mündet.
