Mord in der Rue Morgue (1932)
Paris, Mitte des 19.Jahrhundert: Zwei Medizinstudenten besuchen mit ihren Freundinnen einen Jahrmarkt, wo Dr. Mirakle den Gorilla "Eric, dem Affenmann" zur Schau stellt. Er bemerkt, dass eines der Mädchen noch Jungfrau ist, versucht er mit ihr in Kontakt zu kommen - denn genau das braucht er für seine grausamen Experimente. Als sie seine Avancen ausschlägt, entführt er sie gewaltsam... Basierend auf der Kurzgeschichte "Der Doppelmord in der Rue Morgue" von Edgar Allan Poe.
