John Wilson ist ein besessener Mann, der auf niemanden Rücksicht nimmt. Und er ist ein ebenso brillianter wie umstrittener Filmregisseur, der eine riesige Produktion in Afrika vor sich hat. Aber er hat noch andere Pläne: Trotz heftiger Proteste seines Freundes Pete Verrill hat sich Wilson dazu entschlossen, das majestätischste Tier der Erde zu jagen und zu töten: den afrikanischen Elefanten.
