Afghanistan im Herbst 2006. Eine Militäreinheit junger britischer Soldaten um Corporal Mark Wright wird an die Kajaki-Talsperre in der Provinz Helmand geschickt. Sie sollen die Umgebung observieren und die Straßensperre der Taliban auflösen. Während einer Erkundungstour tritt einer der Soldaten auf eine scharfe Landmine und verletzt sich schwer. Die Kameraden müssen feststellen, dass das gesamte Gebiet vermint ist und sie in der Falle sitzen. Ein verzweifelter Kampf um Leben und Tod beginnt ...
