PARIS IS BURNING, über sieben Jahre gedreht, zeichnet ein intimes Porträt rivalisierender Modehäuser – vom erbitterten Wettstreit um Trophäen bis hin zu Hausmüttern, die in einer Welt voller Homophobie, Transphobie, Rassismus, AIDS und Armut für den Lebensunterhalt sorgen. Mit dabei sind legendäre Voguer, Drag Queens und Transfrauen – darunter Willi Ninja, Pepper LaBeija, Dorian Corey und Venus Xtravaganza.
