Schritte in der Nacht (1949)
Als er während eines Einbruchs überrascht wird, tötet Davis Morgan (Richard Basehart) einen Polizisten. Bald ist der gesamte Polizeiapparat von L.A. hinter dem Serienräuber und Einbrecher her, doch Morgan, der nirgendwo verzeichnet ist, kann dank moderner Elektronik und genauer Kenntnisse der Polizeiarbeit immer wieder entkommen. Er begeht sogar noch einen Mord. Erst als es gelingt, all die Verbrechen, die er begangen hat, miteinander in Verbindung zu bringen und seine Beziehung zur Polizei aufzudecken, kommt man ihm nahe...
