Der Schwimmer (1968)
Ein heißer Sommertag in einem Villenviertel in Conneticutt. Der athletische Ned Merrill (Burt Lancaster) hat einen ungewöhnlichen Plan: Er will die acht Meilen bis zu seinem Haus unten am Hügel schwimmen - von Swimminpool zu Swimmingpool. Bei den ersten Stationen seiner Tour wird Ned, der zwei Jahre als verschollen galt, herzlich von seinen alten Freunden und Nachbarn gegrüßt. Doch je mehr er sich seinem Haus nähert, desto kühler gerät der Empfang - bis hin zu totaler Ablehnung. Als Ned weit nach Mitternacht bei stömenden Regen und völlig erschöpft sein Haus erreicht, enthüllt sich ein tragisches Schicksal...
