Eine Kleinstadt in der Tiefebene Mexikos: Das Ehepaar Alejandra (Ruth Ramos) und Ángel (Jesús Meza) hat große Probleme miteinander. Straßenarbeiter Ángel ist ein Macho, der eine Affäre mit Alejandras Bruder Fabián hat, einem Krankenpfleger. Das Leben des Paares ist von Einsamkeit geprägt, von Lügen und unterdrückten Trieben. Nach einem Meteoriteneinschlag treffen die beiden auf eine Außerirdische in Gestalt der mysteriösen Verónica (Simone Bucio). Die Leben von Alejandra und Ángel werden davon bald auf den Kopf gestellt – das Alien ist die Quelle für unbekannte sexuelle Befriedigung, aber birgt auch ein gefährliches Zerstörungspotential…
