Out of the Blue (1981)
Cindy alias „CeBe“ Barnes ist ein Teenager und steckt gerade mitten in der Pubertät. Sie hat mit den typischen Problemen eines Teenagers zu kämpfen: sie hat keine Lust auf Schule und zudem heftige Probleme mit ihren Eltern. Ihr Vater Don (Dennis Hopper), der ein Alkoholproblem hat, sitzt im Gefängnis, weil er mit seinem Truck in einen Schulbus gerast ist und dabei mehrere Kinder ums Leben gekommen sind. Ihre Mutter ist heroinsüchtig und hat eine Affäre mit ihrem Chef aus dem Diner, in dem sie arbeitet. Ihr einziger Trost ist die Liebe zu Elvis Presley. Doch bald soll ihr Vater aus dem Gefängnis entlassen werden und CeBe hofft, dass sich dadurch alles zum Guten wendet.
