Die Trottel vom Texas-Grill (1988)
Floyd, der Besitzer des Blue Water Grill, kommt nicht über den Tod seiner Frau hinweg. Seine einzigen Freunde sind der an den Rollstuhl gefesselte Vater seiner Frau, genannt General, der zurückgebliebene Jimmy und die Busfahrerin Louise. Ein Spekulant drängt Floyd zum Verkauf seiner Bar; erst Louise findet heraus, dass die lang erwartete Brücke zum Festland, die den Grill zur Goldgrube machen würde, nun gebaut wird. Für zusätzliche Komplikationen sorgt Jimmy, der nach einem Unfall mit dem General durchdreht und Floyd und Louise als Geiseln nimmt. Floyd überwältigt ihn, jagt den lästigen Kaufinteressenten davon und geht mit Louise an die Arbeit.
