Geliebt in alle Ewigkeit (1956)
“Geliebt in alle Ewigkeit”, die musikalische Biografie des talentierten Pianisten und Bandleaders Eddy Duchin, der die New Yorker Society der 1930er und ’40er im Sturm eroberte, lässt die Zeit der Bigbands, großen Tanzsäle und Casinos noch einmal lebendig werden. Tyrone Power spielt den ehrgeizigen Duchin, der in Manhattan ankommt und von einem “roten Stutz Bearcat und einem Bankkonto so groß wie das Ritz” träumt. Mit der ersten Note, die er spielt, gewinnt Duchin das Herz des Societygirls Marjorie Oelrichs, die Duchin zeigt dass nicht Geld, sondern Liebe zum wahren Glück gehört. Doch kaum hat dieses Glück in Duchins Leben Einzug gehalten, ereignet sich eine Tragödie, die ihn mit seinem neugeborenen Sohn und ohne jeglichen Lebenswillen zurücklässt.
