Broadway-Melodie 1936 (1935)
Bob Gordon will einen neue Broadway-Show auf die Beine stellen, leidet aber an Geldknappheit. Hilfe kommt von der reichen Lillian Brent. Die macht aber zur Bedingung, dass sie die Hauptrolle übernimmt. Die junge talentierte Eva Foster bemüht sich ebenfalls um die Hauptrolle. Doch Lillian Brent besteht darauf, die Hauptrolle selbst zu spielen. Daraufhin bemühen sich der Journalist Paul Keeler und Gordons Sekretärin darum, dass Eva die Rolle doch bekommt.
