The Forgiven (2018)
Der südafrikanische Erzbischof Desmond Tutu leitet nach dem Ende der Apartheid die Wahrheits- und Versöhnungskommission des Landes. In dieser Funktion wird er vom berüchtigten Mörder Piet Blomfeld zu sich gerufen, der in einem Hochsicherheitsgefängnis einsitzt und auf Gnade hofft. Der Bischof lässt sich im Inneren des von brutalen Sträflingen bevölkerten Gefängnisses in eine gefährliche Auseinandersetzung mit dem gerissenen Kriminellen hineinziehen, die sein Leben für immer verändern wird.
