CRAZYWISE (2017)
Was können wir von denjenigen Menschen lernen, die anders sind? In unserer westlichen Gesellschaft werden „Andersartige“ oft nicht ernst genommen. Doch vielleicht haben auch sie eine Botschaft… 25 Jahren dokumentierte der Regisseur, Menschenrecht-Aktivist und Fotograf Phil Borges indigene Völker. Er stellt fest wie manche Kulturen „psychotische Symptome“ als Indikatoren für ein schamanistisches Potential erkennen. Fasziniert davon, wie diese Ansicht mit der westlichen Welt kollidiert, porträtiert er im Film CRAZYWISE zwei junge Menschen die bei uns als psychisch labil gelten. Adam, 27, leidet unter Nebenwirkungen von Medikamenten und Ekhaya, 32, wird als Kind missbraucht. Durch Meditation und spirituelles Training machen sich beide auf den Weg zu sich selbst. CRAZYWISE zeigt, dass eine psychische Krise auch eine Möglichkeit sein kann, um an sich zu wachsen.
