Der Schatten im Norden (2007)
Eine alte Frau wird um ihre Ersparnisse betrogen, ein Mann mit einem Schwert ermordet, ein Schiff geht unter... Sally Lockhart, Frederick und Jim haben als Detektive jede Menge zu tun. Aufklärung dieser mysteriösen Fälle erhoffen sie sich auch durch den Besuch spiritistischer Sitzungen. Alle Fäden laufen bei dem reichsten Mann Europas zusammen, einem Schweden namens Axel Bellmann. Er ist der Erfinder einer mörderischen Waffe, und er schreckt vor keiner Gewalttat zurück, um seinen teuflischen Plan in die Tat umzusetzen. Sally und Frederick gestehen sich gegenseitig ihre Liebe, aber dann passiert etwas Schreckliches.
