Die Lichter gehen an in Washington Heights … Gleich außerhalb der U-Bahn-Station 181st Street liegt der Duft eines Cafecito Caliente in der Luft, dort, wo ein Kaleidoskop von Träumen diese lebendige und eng verbundene Gemeinschaft versammelt. Der Mittelpunkt des Ganzen ist der sympathische, charismatische Bodega-Besitzer Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), der jeden Cent aus dem Alltragstrott spart, während er hofft, träumt und von einem besseren Leben singt. In „In the Heights“ verschmelzen Lin-Manuel Mirandas bewegende Musik und Texte mit Regisseur Jon M.
