Little Odessa (1994)
Joshua Shapiria ist ein Profikiller. Seine Opfer erledigt er schon mal am hellichten Tag, auf offener Straße. Sein neuer Auftrag führt ihn an einen Ort, den er eigentlich nie wiedersehen wollte, denn in Brighton Beach ist er aufgewachsen, jener Gegend New Yorks, die auch "Little Odessa" genannt wird. Hier begegnet Joshua seinem verbitterten Vater, seiner dahinsiechenden Mutter und seinem jüngeren Bruder, der ihn immer noch bewundert. Der Vater verwehrt ihm den Kontakt mit seiner Mutter, seine ehemalige Geliebte Alla, die er ohne ein Wort des Abschieds verlassen hat, steht ihm distanziert gegen- über. Als Joshua merkt, daß er von einem Mann verfolgt wird, weiß er, daß der Gangsterboß Boris Volkoff von seiner Rückkehr erfahren hat. Und Volkoff hat mit ihm noch eine alte Rechnung zu begleichen...
