Drugstore Cowboy (1989)
Die 1970er im amerikanischen Nordwesten: Bob Hughes, Dianne, Rick und Nadine sind drogensüchtig. Die wichtigste Frage in ihrem Kopf ist stets die nach dem nächsten Kick. Sie überfallen Krankenhäuser und Apotheken, um ihren Drang zu befriedigen. Die Konsequenz ereilt die Gruppe mit brutaler Härte, als Nadine eine Überdosis nimmt und stirbt. Bob werden dadurch die Augen geöffnet. Er nimmt an einem Entzugsprogramm teil und lernt dabei den ehemaligen Junkie Tom Murphy kennen. Tom ist nun Priester und hilft Bob, Standhaft zu bleiben. Dann kommt plötzlich Dianne vorbei, mit jeder Menge Drogen im Gepäck…
