1985 (2018)
An den Weihnachtsfeiertagen des Jahres 1985 kehrt Adrian Lester nach dreijähriger Abwesenheit für einen Besuch zu seiner Familie zurück. Er hatte seine texanische Heimatstadt 'Fort Worth' nach dem Schulabschluss verlassen, um in New York City in einer Werbeagentur zu arbeiten. Sein Vater Dale, ein Vietnamveteran, und seine fürsorgliche Mutter Eileen sind strenggläubige Christen, sein pubertärer Bruder Andrew hört heimlich die Musik von Madonna. Adrian hat ihnen bisher nicht erzählt, dass er schwul ist - und seit einigen Monaten schwer krank. In seinem New Yorker Umfeld hat Adrian bereits viele Freunde aufgrund der AIDS-Krise verloren. Öffnen kann er sich nur seiner Jugendfreundin Carly.
