Rocketman (2019)
Mitte der 60er Jahre in einem Vorort von London: Reginald Dwight ist ein ganz normaler Junge – ein bisschen kräftiger gebaut und ziemlich schüchtern. Nur wenn er am Klavier sitzt, kommt er so richtig aus sich heraus. Seine wahre Leidenschaft allerdings gilt dem Rock ’n’ Roll, den er aber erst nach seinem Umzug in die englische Hauptstadt ausleben kann. Gemeinsam mit Texter Bernie Taupin mischt er die Londoner Szene schon bald auf, nur der richtige Name fehlt ihm noch. Mit seiner Umbenennung in Elton John beginnt für ihn schließlich der Aufstieg zu einer der schillerndsten Figuren, die die britische Unterhaltungsbranche jemals hervorbrachte. Er fällt mit seinen aufwändigen Kostümen auf, in denen er einen Nummer-eins-Hit nach dem anderen abliefert – bis er eines Tages feststellt, dass nach einem raketenhaften Aufstieg ein tiefer Fall droht. Er kann nicht auf ewig Rocketman bleiben …
