Die illegale Fischerei ist ein Millionengeschäft der organisierten Kriminalität – vor allem im entlegenen Südpolarmeer, wo verbotene Treibnetze unbeachtet ausgeworfen werden können. Als die Crews zweier Schiffe der von Paul Watson gegründeten Naturschutzorganisation "Sea Shepherd" die "Thunder" auf frischer Tat ertappen, kommt es zur Verfolgungsjagd quer durchs Eis bis in den Indischen Ozean.
