„So kann es mit den Eltern einfach nicht weitergehen!“, denkt sich Maxime. Sein Vater Victor wird zunehmend zu einer Nervensäge, die mit sich, der Welt und dem Alter über Kreuz liegt. Seine Frau Marianne ist das genaue Gegenteil. Victors ewige schlechte Laune wird ihr schließlich zu viel. Sie setzt ihn kurzerhand vor die Tür. Victor braucht definitiv Hilfe! Und Maxime hat eine Idee. Sein Freund Antoine hat eine Firma, die gut betuchten Kunden ermöglicht, in einem raffiniert eingerichteten Filmstudio in eine Zeit ihrer Wahl zu reisen. Victor willigt ein. Er entscheidet sich für das Jahr 1974, den exakten Tag, an dem er sich in seine Frau Marianne verliebt hatte. Anfangs skeptisch, lässt er sich immer mehr in den Bann der Erinnerungen ziehen. Und die Kulisse aus Neonlichtern, Schlaghosen und Zigarettenrauch wird zu einer Reise, in der die betörende Schauspielerin Margot die Grenze zwischen damals und heute verschwimmen lässt…
