Aus dem Nichts tauchte 1973 der Einsiedler Mike Oldfield mit "Tubular Bells" auf. Das hypnotisierende Glockenspiel aus "Der Exorzist" veränderte die Popmusik nachhaltig und machte Oldfield zum Millionär. 19 Jahre später will er mit der Fortsetzung erneut einen Meilenstein vorlegen. Tubular Bells II, live im Castle zu Edinburgh mitgeschnitten, erfreut die Fans mit einer esoterisch gefärbten Musik zum Träumen und Abheben. Aus kantablen Gitarrenlinien, sanften Keyboardparts, folkloristischen Chorgesängen und allerlei Space-Sounds fertigt Oldfield hier ein Werk von geradezu sinfonischen Ausmaßen.
