Gedreht 1996 während der Europatournee von Woody Allens New-Orleans-Jazz-Band, präsentiert Oscar-Preisträgerin Barbara Kopple (‘Harlan County USA’) ein einfühlsames Porträt des eigenwilligen Stadtneurotikers und gewährt einen ganz privaten Einblick hinter die Kulissen. Und weil sie und ihre Kamera überall dabei sein durften, zeigt ‘Wild Man Blues’ Woody Allen in nahezu allen Momenten. Denn auch sein Leben jenseits der Filmfabrik ist voller komischer Situationen - eben wie ein typischer Woody-Allen-Film.
