Sterben… und leben lassen (1986)
Eigentlich ist der Versicherungsvertreter Leonard Hoffman (Alan Arkin) ein grundehrlicher Kerl. Weil er aber seine drei Söhne auf die renommierte, und somit auch sehr teure Yale-Universität schicken will, fehlt es finanziell an allen Ecken und Enden. Da tritt Blanche (Beverly D'Angelo) in Leonards Leben. Die attraktive Blondine will eine hohe Lebensversicherung für ihren Ehemann Steve (Peter Falk) abschließen. Schnell wird Leonard klar, daß nicht tiefempfundene Besorgnis hinter Blanches Vorhaben steckt, sondern ein raffiniert ausgeklügelter Betrug - von dem allerdings auch der gute Leonard profitieren könnte. Und das nicht zu knapp. "Sterben... und leben lassen" - brilliante Unterhaltung, ebenso komisch wie hintergründig. Hochkarätige Hauptdarsteller in dieser Video-Welturaufführung: Starkomiker Alan Arkin und "Columbo" Peter Falk!"
