Familie Miller findet an Weihnachten ein mysteriöses Geschenkpaket vor ihrer Haustüre. Dabei können sie noch nicht ahnen, welche unvorstellbare Gefahr Ihnen droht. Im Paket finden sie eine Schneekugel mit einer haargenauen Nachbildung ihrer Heimatstadt. Als die Schneekugel geschüttelt wird, entfesselt sich eine Kette schrecklicher Ereignisse und bedroht die Existenz der gesamten Stadt. Die Familie muss zusammenhalten und alles tun, um die Kugel zu zerstören – bevor es für immer zu spät ist.
