The Metropolitan Opera: Rigoletto (2022)
Bartlett Shers kühne neue Interpretation von Verdis zeitloser Tragödie kommt am 29. Januar in die Kinos. Der mit dem Tony Award ausgezeichnete Regisseur setzt die Handlung der Oper im Europa der 1920er Jahre zurück, mit Art-Deco-Sets von Michael Yeargan und eleganten Kostümen von Catherine Zuber, die selbst zusammen 11 Tony Auszeichnungen. Bariton Quinn Kelsey, ein souveräner Künstler auf dem Höhepunkt seines Könnens, bringt seine glühende Darstellung der Titelrolle zum ersten Mal an die Met, neben der Sopranistin Rosa Feola als Gilda und dem Tenor Piotr Beczała als Herzog von Mantua, mit führendem Maestro Daniele Rustioni auf dem Podium. Diese Live-Kinoübertragung ist Teil der preisgekrönten Live in HD-Serie der Met, die Oper in Kinos auf der ganzen Welt bringt.
