Disappearance - Spurlos verschwunden (2002)
Jim Henley hat vor kurzem die Lektorin Patty geheiratet. Nun hofft er, durch einen entspannten Familientrip in die Wüste von Nevada die Zurückhaltung seiner Kinder Kate und Matt ihr gegenüber abzubauen. Begleitet wird die Familie von Matts Freund Ethan. Der junge Hobby-Fotograf Matt begeistert sich für Geschichte und möchte unbedingt einen kurzen Abstecher in die Geisterstadt Weaver machen, um dort ein paar Fotos zu schießen. Doch schon der Versuch, den Weg zu diesem ehemaligen Bergarbeiternest zu erfahren, gestaltet sich äußerst schwierig. Niemand will etwas von dieser Stadt gehört haben. Unbeirrt fahren die Henleys weiter, auf eigene Faust wollen sie herausfinden, was es mit der geheimnisumwobenen Stadt auf sich hat. Eine Entscheidung, die sie nur wenig später bereuen werden, denn kaum in der verlassenen Wüstenstadt angekommen, ereignen sich äußerst merkwürdige Dinge...
