Rückkehr ins Weltall (2022)
Die Filmemacher Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi und Jimmy Chin richten ihre Linse in den Himmel und berichten über den Aufstieg von SpaceX und Elon Musks bereits zwei Jahrzehnte währenden Versuch, Amerikas Raumfahrtambitionen wiederzubeleben. Der Film bietet einen Einblick in die erste bemannte Mission, die seit der Stilllegung des Space Shuttle im Jahr 2011 von amerikanischem Boden aus gestartet wird, und ist ein Porträt der Ingenieure und Astronauten, die für diesen historischen Moment ausgewählt wurden. Die Regisseure begleiten die NASA-Veteranen Bob Behnken, Doug Hurley und ihre Familien bei den Vorbereitungen zum Start und nimmt die Zuschauer mit auf die Reise zur Internationalen Raumstation und in die Missionskontrolle, wo Musk und das SpaceX-Team die Astronauten anschließend zur Erde zurückbringen wollen.
