Bert Ira Gordon war ein US-amerikanischer Filmregisseur, der vor allem für Science-Fiction- und Horror-B-Movies wie „Der Koloß“ und „Die Rache der schwarzen Spinne“ (beide 1958) bekannt wurde. Gordons Arbeiten drehten sich hauptsächlich um riesige Monsterfilme, für deren Spezialeffekte er Rückprojektion verwendete. Sein Spitzname „Mister B.I.G.“ bezog sich sowohl auf seine Initialen als auch auf seine bevorzugte Technik zur Herstellung übergroßer Kreaturen.
