Robert P. Dunn war in den Jahren 1912-1937 als Schauspieler bekannt. Er arbeitetete unter anderem in einigen Komödien mit Laurel & Hardy mit. Er wurde in Milwaukee, Wisconsin als Kind von Richard P. and Melissa Dunn geboren. Seine Filmkarriere startete er bei der Keystone Film Company. Er war Schauspieler in vielen Komödien des Produzenten und Regisseurs Mack Sennett. Bei einem Stunt verlor er ein Auge als er in ein Wasserfass fiel und ein an der Oberfläche schwimmendes Streichholz in sein Auge drang. Deshalb trug er dann ein Glasauge, was ihm seinen schielenden Ausdruck verlieh.
