Biografie:: Robert Towne, eigentlich Robert Bertram Schwartz, war ein US-amerikanischer Drehbuchautor, Schauspieler und Regisseur. Größere Bekanntheit erlangte er durch das Drehbuch zu Bonnie und Clyde von 1967, der als einer der ersten Filme des „New-Hollywood“ gilt. So wurde Towne ein gefragter Autor dieses modernen US-Kinos.
