Yoshihiro Nishimura ist ein japanischer Filmregisseur, Spezialeffekt- und Maskenbildner sowie Drehbuchautor, der vorwiegend im Horrorgenre arbeitet. Nishimura gilt als legendärer Regisseur und Effektkünstler und als der japanische Tom Savini mit einem außergewöhnlichen Talent. Ihm wird die Etablierung einer neuen Art der visuellen Filmpräsentation zugeschrieben, des sogenannten „Gore-Effekts“.
