Biografie:

Clarence Clemons, von seinen Fans liebevoll „The Big Man“ genannt, war ein US-amerikanischer Musiker und Schauspieler. Seit 1972 war er festes Mitglied der E Street Band von Bruce Springsteen und spielte Saxophon. Er veröffentlichte außerdem mehrere Soloalben und landete 1985 mit „You’re a Friend of Mine“, einem Duett mit Jackson Browne, einen Hit. Als Gastmusiker wirkte er unter anderem an Aretha Franklins „Freeway of Love“ und Twisted Sisters „Be Chrool to Your Scuel“ mit und trat mit den Grateful Dead und Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band auf. Als Schauspieler war Clemons in Filmen wie „New York, New York“ und „Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure“ zu sehen. Er hatte zudem Gastauftritte in Fernsehserien wie „Diff’rent Strokes“, „Nash Bridges“, „Die Simpsons“ und „The Wire“. Zusammen mit seinem Freund, dem Fernsehautor Don Reo, veröffentlichte er 2009 seine Autobiografie „Big Man: Real Life & Tall Tales“.
